What
is the First Call Forum?
"word of mouth·powered by the speed of the Internet"
First
Call Forum is an e-mail list serv for human service
providers.
First
Call Forum is an instant communications tool for people
in helping professions and those looking to provide
help to community members. Someone working with a
client with a special need can send one e-mail to
communicate that need, and everyone registered on
the list serv receives it. Anyone who thinks
they can help may respond to the inquiry.
In
addition, this e-mail system can be used to share
important agency announcements, seek or offer donations,
and announce job openings.
The
list serv is moderated by First Call For Help for
clarity and to avoid requests for services that can
be met by existing agencies and programs. All thatâs
needed to join the list serv is an e-mail address.
One hundred and sixty-five people have joined the
First Call Forum and that number is growing every
day!

Here's
what some members have said about First Call Forum:
"The Forum is a wonderful, efficient way
to make resources available to lots of people in need
we non-profit staff are grateful for such a simple,
easy way to get things we need for our agencies and
the people we serve thank you."
"My
office provides clothes and small household items
but we needed a place to be able to reach out and
obtain furniture for our clients who are so needy.
Thank you again. I can tell you it works!!"
"Our
organization found an agency to offer their training
rooms for our parent support group meetings. We were

challenges to attend our annual health conference
in Washington, DC."

am always amazed at how quickly I receive a response,
no matter what the need or question."
"The
First Call For Help Forum
is a 'win win' opportunity for
both donors and recipients."
